Arrive in Olbia
Welcome to Sardinia. Meet us in Olbia, a nice coastal town, perfect for arriving on the island. We will meet and have our first meeting and a short briefing of the tour. We collect the bikes today and have a short warmup ride. Welcome dinner will be served in the evening as we prepare, mentally and physically, for this thrilling ride.

Olbia to Ajaccio
Today we start riding north, along the magnificent Smeralda Coast, known for its jet set tourism. We have a short ferry waiting for us in Santa Teresa Gallura from which we observe the dramatic entrance into Bonifacio port. An unique old town from 820 AD, built on a limestone cliff perched above the sea. We stayed overnight here for a few days. But first, let’s explore this amazing French Island. Nice twisty roads through Sartène and Propriano. We are headed for Ajaccio, Napoleon’s birthplace. Great coastal town to spend a night.

Ajaccio to Cap Corse
Amazing sweeping road along the coast towards Calangques de Piana, famous red granite cliffs and rocks. A coffee stop at Les Roches Bleues for the view is a must. Soon after the little coastal town of Porto, we start climbing over mesmerizing Vergio pass. Nice stop at Lace Calacuccia from where the tiny narrow road enters a canyon. Our destination in the afternoon is Cap Corse, the wild and unspoiled northern tip of the island, where steep cliffs and tiny fishing villages offer unforgettable views. Enjoy a relaxed evening by the sea with local seafood and Corsican wine.

Cap Corse to Bonifacio
We’ll dig ourselves into Central Corsica, the heart of the island, where the jagged GR20 mountain range carves through dense forests, glacial lakes, and hidden waterfalls. The routes here is a challenge and rewards you with breathtaking views, cool pine-scented air, and thrilling switchbacks that lead to panoramic summits. Soak in the beauty before we end the day in Bonifacio, the jewel of Corsica. Bonifacio is one of Corsica’s most breathtaking and historic towns. Overlooking the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean, it feels like a fortress suspended between the sea and the sky.

Bonifacio to Alghero
We’ll get down to the port first thing in the morning, and embark the ferry back to Santa Teresa Gallura. The ride along the coast south to Castelsardo is a nice relaxing stretch, followed with some twisty roads in the countryside after. Nice scenic villages offer shade in the main square for a short stop, but we will try to reach Alghero earlier and have a good evening in the old town. This is where we spend two nights.

Exploration Day at Alghero
Alghero is a distinct town on the western side of Sardinia. It holds a blend of Catalan culture and was once a stronghold of The Crown of Aragon. The town, due to its position, held an important defense role for centuries. Dramatic cliffs and long sandy beaches surround the city and offer many little daily trips to do. The main sight is definitely Neptune’s Grotto, an awe-inspiring sea cave filled with stalactites and underground lakes. If you choose to stay on foot, explore the cobble stoned streets of the old town or put your towel down on golden sandy beaches of Spiaggia di Maria Pia.

Alghero to Gennargentu National Park
The destination today is Gennargentu National Park, the highest and most dramatic mountain range on Sardinia. First we follow a splendid coastal road to Bosa, a colorful little town, before heading into the mainland. We will meet with mysterious Nuraghic monuments scattered around the island, a very interesting ancient culture. It’s a big riding day otherwise, with a lot of curves and bends, scenic views and especially towards the end, where we find ourselves in Gennargentu, one of the most beautiful riding areas of Sardinia.

Gennargentu to Olbia
Leaving Supramonte cliffs behind, we pass Nuoro and ride towards Bitti. Home to a special polyphonic singing “Canto a Tanore”. This section is one of the best. Shephard’s huts, cork plantations, rugged countryside and perfect road. Further north, we rise up into the mountains again and follow our compass north towards Olbia. We should reach the hotel at a decent hour, so we can return our bikes and get ready for our farewell dinner and share our memories of this riding adventure.

Departure from Olbia
With heavy hearts (and maybe sore muscles!), we say goodbye to Olbia. But trust us, the memories of this epic adventure will last a lifetime!
