Known to locals as: “The land that God Made in Anger:, Namibia is one of the last true wilderness areas of the world. After Mongolia it is the most sparsely populated country on earth.

The landscapes here are rugged, unique and unforgiving. It is home to the world’s oldest Desert- The NAMIB. Scenery includes Giant golden Sand dunes, rugged rock formations, deep canyons and sandy roads that stretch as far as the eye can see- a true gravel riding paradise!

By night there is no light pollution meaning that we sleep under the canopy of 1000 stars. Namibia is also home to unique wildlife including the Onyx, jackals, desert elephants, scorpions, hares and more.

Arrive in Windhoek

Welcome to Namibia- The land that GOD made in Anger. This country is renowned for its awe-inspiring natural landscapes, as well as its intriguing history as a German colony. Upon your arrival at the airport, we will be there to greet you and take you to our hotel situated atop a hill, which offers a panoramic view of the capital city, Windhoek. Later in the evening, we will gather with the other travelers to mark the start of an unforgettable motorcycle adventure.

Windhoek to Sesriem via Spreetshoogte Pass

At the beginning of the day, we will hand over your motorcycles for the journey, this is followed by a detailed briefing about our trip. The Royal Enfield Himalayans have been chosen as our preferred motorcycles for this journey. This renowned adventure bike is ideal for traversing the rough desert terrain of Namibia. Spreetshoogte Pass a winding gravel route, is our first experience of gravel roads in Namibia meandering our way to the entrance of the Sossusvlei park, Sesriem where we spent a night at a magical lodge overlooking the desert.

Tour of Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei- Ride to Solitaire

An early start sees the famous red dunes of Sossusvlei on the cards today, we leave our bikes and take a safari to the dunes where you will have the opportunity to climb the dunes for the energetic traveler, thereafter we go looking for the hardy animals that survive the desert conditions, In the afternoon we head to the settlement of Solitaire that has the most fascinating history. The town boast everything that a weary traveler requires from a pool, restaurant with cold beers, a tyre repair shop and even the most amazing bakery, and the best Namibian apple cakes – Apfelstrudel, the most delicious apple strudel in town.

Solitaire to Swakopmund via Naukluft park and Walvisbay

Another clear desert morning sees us heading north crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, via the spectacular winding gravel passes to the viewpoints of the Naukluft National Park ending up in the Walvisbay Harbour for a seafood lunch. Spotting Flamingos is on the cards for the afternoon thereafter we make our way on the coastal road to Swakopmund, offering cool climate and misty mornings, in this coastal town wedged between the Atlantic Ocean and the never-ending dunes of Namibia.

Exploration Day at Swakopmund

Today is a rest day of sorts, as we are still experiencing an adrenaline rush as we explore some of the tallest dunes on quad bikes. The afternoon is spent at leisure exploring what Swakopmund has to offer, tonight we dine in an authentic German restaurant, beer, eisbein and wurst are on the cards. Other optional Activities include: Hot air balloon over the desert, Sailing Trips, Sky Diving, Dune Buggy’s and more- This is the Adventure Capital of Africa

Swakopmund Cape to Cross Seal Colony via The Moonscapesi

Heading inland via the Mountains of the Moonscapes, a site that could easily be used as a Star Wars set, we visit Welwitschia Mirabilis, is a long-aged plant with a lifespan of about 400 to 1500 years that is only found in Namibia and Angola. After a refreshment stop at the Goanikontes Oasis on the Swakop River we head north on the salt roads along the Skeleton Coast to Cape Cross, to visit the huge Seal Colony that have made their home here.

Cape Cross to Brandberg

We head inland on good gravel roads to the imposing Brandberg, the tallest mountain in Namibia, famous for the concentration of Bushman Paintings in the area. We hope that luck is on our side, and we see the Wild Desert Elephants that roam the Ugab River between June and December. (Please note Elephant sightings cannot be guaranteed, but there are other interesting Desert Wildlife to see).

Brandberg to Spitzkoppen

This morning we head more inland and end up at one the most photographed destinations in Namibia, the red granite mountain of Spitzkoppe! Here we enjoy a tented glamping experience soaking up the atmosphere of the red mountains at sunset, a truly special place, leading on to a traditional South African braai with a million stars to keep us company.

Spitzkoppe to Windhoek

Today is sadly the last riding day of the tour although there is still a lot to see, starting of early with amazing hikes and bushman painting sites to explore before breakfast. After bidding the majestic Spitzkoppe farewell we head to Windhoek. Tonight, we celebrate and relive our experiences together at a Windhoek institution, Joe’s Beerhouse for more good beers and food.
